The real estate market is shifting to a new normal - and the Cohen Group NW is pivoting to meet them. We know that regardless of what's going on in the stock market, or the health conditions of a region, there are people who need to sell and people who need to buy. We're committed to finding the safe, appropriate solutions to make sure that you can prepare to sell your home in the safest and most practical manner.

Virtual Meetings As much as we love to grab a coffee or a beer and work out the plan for listing and selling your home, we can leverage technology to minimize in-person interaction. We can meet over FaceTime or other video chat apps, and our team (and the industry as a whole) uses digital signature software for signing all the paperwork needed to get your home on the market. (Along the way, we'll discuss ways you can prepare to sell your home, even during a quarantine).

Private Open Houses

As it is safest to avoid traditional open houses at this time, the Cohen Group NW:

  • provides a professional walk-through video of each home,
  • can host virtual open houses,
  • coordinates private open houses (where we schedule multiple showings for the same time, but buyers tour the house one by one).

Showings

As we've been doing for years with out-of-state clients, the Cohen Group NW is providing virtual tours and showings via FaceTime.

For in-person tours, we're screening for interested parties who:

  • have been preapproved for a mortgage or have other solid financing,
  • have looked through all the listing photos and seen the walkthrough video,
  • are not showing symptoms.

Showings & Private Open House Policies

  • The hosting agent will open all the interior doors and closets as well and enforce a no-touching policy.
  • All entrants are required to wear shoe covers and to hand sanitize upon entry.
  • After the last showing, the hosting agent will wipe down light switches, door handles, and countertops.

Industry Partners
Our industry partners have also increased their protections and improved virtual systems. Lenders can do nearly 100% of the financing work remotely, and both escrow & title, and the County recording offices have pivoted to more virtual services as the state has relaxed various rules.

CDC Recommendations for Cleaning Your Home

Cleaning for Showings

A clean home protects both you and the buyers touring it; offering them peace of mind means they can focus on what matters: your home.

The CDC recommends cleaning the following surface regularly with household cleaners:

  • Tables & desks
  • Countertops
  • Doorknobs
  • Light switches
  • Faucets
  • Toilets

Other recommendations include:

  • Wear disposable gloves and discard them after cleaning.
  • If surfaces are dirty, wash them with soap and water prior to using a disinfectant.
  • Launder textiles as appropriate.
  • And as always, regular handwashing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of many diseases.
